Exams finnished

Officially on my summer holiday now :)

 Absolutely exhausted.

Monday, 16 May 2011

Two hours and felt like a breeze. Had to discuss how a passage from middlemarch reflected on the novelistic form and I read the fucker as a sci-fi bringing a unique perspective on its form! Chuffed.

I really wanted to fit both, an interrobang and a glottal spot into a single phrase.

Exams next week so don't expect too much activity...

As the title may suggest, next week shall be a period of hectic last minute revision; stress releiving spliffs and surplus ammounts of coffee. I shall try to make onew or two posts but please forgive me and don't give up on me if I fail to appear on here.

The upshot of being back in Bristol during the exam period means that I can get back to all my equipment and put on a one off radio show! Tuesday night 8-10 snypasessions featuring tonnes of uk funky, dubstep, hip hop and whatever else I can fit in :)

Tuesday 8-10 (GMT):

Shall correct the link nearer the time as I'm sure that isn't the right one :)

Ez bassweight lovers, been toying with a remix of Loefah's classic beat over the last couple of days and came up with this subby house number:

Loefah - horror show (snypa's house in the dark remix)

Lemme know what you think :)

As promised pt 1

As promised, here is part 1 of my visit to the alpacca farm.
Me, and my encounter with, 'rasta pacca' can't really see too clearly but that alpacca had some proper natty dreads.
The most incredible animal to roam this earth; the alpaccas are our kindred spirits.
This alpacca is now signed to night slugs.

Important, must read:

I am going to ask you to do something very hard. I would like for you to think of a loved one, someone who was close to you and has since passed away. Think how much it hurt to loose them. I'm sorry to for your loss and, if there was an easier way of doing this without stirring emotions you would rather keep surpessed I would use that instead but, there isnt. It hurts loosing people around us, it hurts a lot.

All over the world, each year, there are over 50 million people dying of preventable deaths! 50 million people are snatched away from people like you each year for simple, preventable reasons.

In a world where 1% of the world's population ( 69, 162, 632 approx) own 90% of the world's wealth and the other 10% are either in abject poverty or close to that; something has gone terribly wrong.

One of the leading causes for these deaths (around 1.6 million) is poor water. It is easy and near enough free to build a simple water filtration device, why are we not doing this for those unable to help themselves because of the crushing debt we have placed on their lands? Because no one cares? Because it is somebody elses problem? Or because we feel unable?

Do not give your money to charity, do not donate directly to the suffering. What needs to happen is that everybody reading this needs to start asking the people at the top why? The more that ask this simple question the louder our voice.

In order to change this world we need to stop being complacent, we need to get off our arses and seriously start asking why. I can't do it alone, neither can anyone else but, if you feel this world is full of injustice then pass on that feeling to others start asking why and encourage others to do the same.

I am sick to my stomach of the world I live in, a world where corporations and not individuals rule. They take away the basic human right of water and charge us for the use of it, they invade weaker countries and exploit and depleat. They are not better than you or me. They are certainly not stronger than us.

Seriously, get off your arse and start kicking up a fuss about this shit; it will not do. We, the people of planet earth, are fed up.

Our relationship.....

In the beggining, there were high hopes. I had aquired prior knowledge of you and, to be frank,I was excited about our prospects together. At first, I took my time. I played it cool. After a matter of hours, I could no longer resist. My lips found your neck and we had a brief warm and sticky encounter. I was left dissapointed.

My only regret, dearest bottle of cherry vimto, is that I left you in a warm car on a hot day before encountering you fully.

Perhaps some other time.....

Bin Laden is dead..........................

We have all most likely heard the news and I'm sure most of us on here are thinking the same things. I would sum these events up myself but my housemate and, now, fellow blogger has written a really good article for his new blog (thetardistent) summing up his thoughts on the entire situation.
I am not reccomending his blog due to a bias (being personaly associated with him), this is one of the best first posts of a new blog I have ever read and is really though provoking. I strongly suggest you have a quick read of it and follow him for mor of the same stuff. He assures me this is the first in a long line of thought provoking musings designed to bring out our questioning nature. I have a feeling we may collaborate on a few posts in the not too distant future so keep your eyes peeled for that too.

Peace and love

I love the ads on my page sometimes!!

Just saw one for alpacca wool. I feel that I should probably mention the word Alpacca several times on my blog from now on in order to generate more alpacca based ads. Who knows, I may even get one of those flash animated ads with a big ol' alpacca face floating about.

Some keywords in order to generate new and exciting ads:  Rectal stimulation, Cheesecake, Mormons, Teletext, Conjuror, ghosts, vauxhall corsa, trains, alpacca, alpacca, alpacca, bill cosby, alpacca.

takes the piss not having any dollar..

The one downfall to student life is the lack of any decent dollar. I need a job! Any suggestions?

I'm learning

I have been bashing out quite a few tunes of late. I feel, the more prolific I am, the more I shall learn. Untill recently, however, I hadn't dabbled in any house music. This is an early attempt at house, needs bare work but tell me what you rekon all the same:

This one's for my ninjas....

Lyme bay Alpaca farm had an open day yesterday and how could I possibly resist going along? For a small donation of three pounds I spent the afternoon sipping coffee, eating cake and, of course, hugging alpacas. Highlight of my week so far.

Some things that I are learnt on my day trip:
Alpacca wool comes in 22 natural colour shades.
Their gestation period is 11.5 months and they will not give birth on a rainy day.
Their wool contains no linolin (sic) and is, therefore, hypoalergenic.

Big up the alpaca crew.

Hey u guys..

I begin this update with an apology to those expecting regular posts. I have finnished uni now and am staying with my gf for a while and, as a result, have very limited internet access (about once a week). Never fear though, I am still checking through my follower's blogs and seeing some great stuff.

During my last visit to the interwebs I decided to grab a bunch of rinse podcasts to listen to for those times when there isn't much to do and no web. I have to say, if you haven't already, grab oneman, crises and youngsta's latest offerings; each one is absolute brilliance.

Will hopefully be back with an update some time next week.
Love to the homies :)

dank aint rank.

Found a bag of herb in the house that was over a year old. Dry as fuck but had been in an airtight bag and had no fur growing on it so thought i'd give it a go.

That weed is mega strong. One spliff k.o buisness. Today has been highly unproductive, although I have been working on a snack based paradox so not too bad.

Uni and my career.

Really want to become a primary teacher after uni. The trouble is it looks like i'm in line for a 2.2 and not sure that is exactly satisfactory enough to get onto a pgce. Anyone here have any advice??

Last week...

This is the last week of uni for me before the nice long summer holiday. As the weather is getting nicer and a few people are starting to make plans for the summer, I wonder what your plans for summer include?
We are going to amsterdam soon and then a few festivals lined up. Going to be a nice summer I rekon.

I hate alcohol....

My household and I threw a bit of a house  party friday night. Before hand I told my girlfriend I wouldn't be drinking and that, instead Id smoke a tonne of weed. She always argues that she prefers alcohol to weed.

Long story short, everyone got fucked, smashed glasses, spilt shit over the floor and were sick, I on the other hand was fine. She said at the end of the night that she was never going to drink again. I smiled. The next morning we all sat on the sofa doing pretty much jack shit (well I smoked all day but besides that) I happened to point out to my girlfriend that I felt rather like I was butter melting slowly, she groaned and said she felt awefull.

Conclusion, weed rocks alcohol sucks. :)

I love....

Here is a sample of a few noises I am literaly in love with. All part of the bass music culture (obviously), some dubstep, some housey bits and other murkier tracks but here it is the list of love:
Wow, what a tune. Subtle, subby, free and interesting.

This one is haunting, literally turns me to goo.

The guy is a master lyricist and has a great voice. Combine Jukali's talented voice and lyrics with the amazing production of forensics and you get this beautiful track.

More come tonight after I get hold of a smoke and have a sit down.

An apology (again sort of)

I must confess followers, I have been somewhat lacking in my efforts to maintain a decent blog over the last two weeks and, as I have already explained the first instance of lacking (uni work) I thought i'd update with an explanation of my seeming dissapearence this week.

I can, on occasion, be a thoughroughly spontaneous person. If you combine this trait with copious ammounts of tetrahydracannibinol then the results can be intriguing. This is exactly what happened to me this week. I spontaneously traversed the country with my girlfriend in order to get high at various interesting locations.

Without going into thorough details about where the car and cannabis has taken us, it seems needless to say that the blog has been somewhat neglected. I assure you I am now out of weed and normal services can resume.

Oh and, don't forget to catch my radio show tonight: 6 pm (gmt)

Monday, 21 March 2011

Wow, that was a busy week.

This week saw your friendly neighbourhood blogger really wrapped up in work.
I have spent many a 24 hour period franticaly bashing at the keyboard in order to maintain deadlines and have had to somewhat abandon my efforts here in blogland.

It is therefore, with much delight, I announce my return to routine. No more 4 Am coffee, no more frantic printing as the sun rises, not even any more restless attempts to sleep.

As always, Monday nights see my weekly forray into bass music in the form of my online radio show.
The show is small, I only attract around 100 dedicated bass heads each week but it is worth it
With this in mind, feel free to join me in a large spliff and lovely music from 6PM (GMT) over at the following address:

Monday night spliff sessions.

don't worry if you don't smoke, brew a tea, get some coffee on the go; hell, you can down a bottle of jacks, all I ask is that you lock in and give me your honest opinion of the sounds you hear.
Love to all my followers and love to everyone.
Snypadub signing out for a quick power nap.
